Gattimatti is what is commonly called a cat shelter. In fact it is the home to about eighty stray cats. After a life that for most of them have been hard and full of dangers, they have eventually found what they had long been looking for: a safe place, plenty of food, and, above all, love and respect. Gattimatti is located in Urbino, a charming Renaissance town in central Italy, certainly worth visiting. The association "L'Arca di Noè" is in charge of gattimatti. It is economically supported partly by Urbino town Council, partly by the contribution of our associates and donors. One more way to help us carry on the task we are deeply committed to is to make a distance adoption (50.00 euros yearly). You can choose any of our cats from the "gallery" of our site which shows all of them with a few notes on their character, personality … and foibles. The actual work at gattimatti is done by some of our associates and by aid workers who are really precious. Unfortunately they are not many. To keep going on is not easy but we know that none of us will give up. There is no giving up when you know that the life and well-being of the animals you have come to know and to love solely depends on you. Visit Our Gallery | Italian Web Site
